Hey there everyone, Argus here! I’m turtlely stoked to be a part of the Tour de Turtles this year! In my opinion I’m the raddest competitor in this thing! I’m not a nesting female like most of the turtles in the marathon. I was actually rescued three miles north of the 7 Mile Bridge in Marathon, FL. That’s right, Marathon! Pretty fitting for the race I’m about to begin. When I was rescued last July, I was totally not in marathon form. I was tangled in fishing line and a buoy AND covered in some gnarly tumors. Totally not tubular. My friends at the Turtle Hospital helped get me back on my flippers since I wasn’t doing so hot. I’ve had a year to recover and now I’m tumor-free and ready to head back to the sea! I’m racing to spread the word about Poor Water Quality because clean water is crucial for sea turtles like me and my non-flippered friends. Make sure to cheer for me and spread the word about my cause! And remember, saving turtles is a Marathon, not a sprint ;)
I was named by my Sponsor,
The Turtle Hospital. Check out my marathon migration map, where you can follow along as I swim to raise awarness about the threat of Water Quality to sea turtles. Please help me raise awareness about my cause by supporting me!
